I had been looking for a mare with a loose but natural fox trot and quiet willing temperament that anyone could ride. And I needed it in a horse already trained. I found what I was looking for and more in Missy. Missy is an experienced trail horse and a proven broodmare. I am thrilled to have her here. She fox trots in the field and rides as good as she looks. She hasn't been ridden in a couple of years but other than being out of shape is ready to go! I took her to a week long clinic and she impressed not only me but the hosts with her smart, willing attitude. I even taught her to stand her front feet on a log! Last summer she gave riding lessons to some 10 year old girls. We left her open for 2009. I saddled her after almost 9 months off and she rode just as well as the last time I rode her.
Missy delivered a nice healthy colt for us for May 10, '08. He got his dad's (Sunny ) great palomino color, and strong build. His mom offered his flashy sabino markings and he got a nice quiet temperament from both. We expect great things from Spirit
You can see Missy's previous foal, Sampson's Boss, to get an idea of the great quality she can produce.
Due to our drought conditions, I need to sell some horses before winter. So reluctantly, Missy is on the market. She is quiet enough for kids and only about 14.1 H. She has only partial vision in one eye, we were told it was an old injury that has produced scare tissue. My vet isn't sure about it either but it could be a small tumor. It has not changed in the year and a half I have owned her. This does not stop her from being trail worthy.
Drought Sale price $2000
